The Selmer guitar # 607 has been manufactured in september, 1946.

It only had one owner and is in great shape.

It is by all means similar to Django Reinhardt's Selmer, the #503, exposed at 'La Cité de la Musique', in Paris.

Selmer guitars :
"L'histoire des guitares Selmer - Maccaferri" is making us the pleasure of prefacing the record

" The Selmer guitar is, and for quite a while now, the preferred instrument for gypsy swing musicians.

It became the absolute reference because Django adopted it. It is now part of his style. All guitarists playing this style of music then dreamed of having one or even playing one. Some had this chance, the others played the numerous copycats made since the mid 30's.

And the magic works here with the Selmer, serial #607 of 1946, used on this record. Listen closely, and the presence of this guitar will be just an evidence. It's tone, depth, precision make it unique and among the best of it's kind.

Whoever the solo player on this record, the Sound is here, as the myth."
